The Illustrated Librarian called me a few days ago, in all her states about wrapping paper.
Yes. Wrapping paper.
"We didn't buy any at the sales last year and so all I had left was white trash wrapping paper," she wailed.
To me, wrapping a gift in WT paper would indicate using tin foil (used) or perhaps a greasy newspaper. Note: A large offshoot of my maternal line is 100% WT, including moonshine, so I know these things first hand.
"Ummm. Ok." I managed to reply. I( couldn't really picture WT wrapping paper coming from a SoCal location.) When the box arrived, the gifts were wrapped as pictured above.
Is this WT to YOU? The "OPEN ME FIRST" paper was taken literally by Thing1--who can read very well--and who assumes any writing on a gift must be obeyed immediately. A brief scuffle ensued, I won, and the package remains unopened at this time.
What would WT wrapping be, other than tin foil or nasty newspaper? Any thoughts? HA!
By the way, nice wrap job, TIL! Merry Christmas!

My favorite WT wrapping paper is the sunday funnies section of the greasy newspaper. I thought TIL's wrapping paper was right lovely.
Awww...thanks y'all!!
The thing was, I HAD to get those packages in the mail THAT DAY, or there wasn't a snowman's chance in Hell they'd get there by Christmas.
There was only lame leftover wrapping paper and tags. I didn't have time to go out and buy anything, come home & wrap the packages, then make it back to the post office that day.
WT #1--The two tags I had left don't match the paper--AT ALL.
WT #2--I ran out of tags, and just scrawled the "to/from" directly ON the packages with a Sharpie marker.
WT #3--No bows, ribbon, nothing.
In my defense, ArmyGuy said they were probably fine, and not so WT unless they were wrapped in brown paper bags from the supermarket--which he claimed to have experienced as a child.
This holiday really got away from me. Yeesh.
XOXO TIL! As per your wrapping paper's demand, Thing1 opened his PowerRangers Communicator Blaster-Thing FIRST (ie. OPEN ME FIRST) and was happily occupied by the thing through most of the day. As always, TIL, you choose the best gifts! The wrapping paper was also fun and funky, like yourself. For sure, NOT WT!
