USMCman just returned from a 1-week conference on the west coast. He did not have an easy time traveling, USAir having lost his luggage (upon his return to J'Ville) for the FOURTH time since we have lived here. We've only been in NC for a little over 2 years, so that tells you the track record for USAir and the local puddlejumper airport...
Once the errant luggage was returned by cab (how much did THAT cost?) and all goods and sundries unloaded... nothing.
The suitcase is still sitting in front of his highboy. Yes, STILL SITTING.
I'm known for ignoring piles of stuff like books and papers, but a full-sized suitcase is not easily ignored. Somehow, USMCman is managing to pretend the elephant is not in the room. By the way, to put it away properly, the suitcase has to be hauled up a rickety ladder and launched into the 'luggage pile' section of the attic.
I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to schlep that suitcase up those creaky old stairs. I WON'T DO IT! It's not my suitcase, it's not my problem.
And thus, the battle of Spouse v. Suitcase has begun. I'm pointedly ignoring that area of the bedroom. Not saying a word. He's completely oblivious and I refuse to nag him or do it myself. We'll see how long it takes until the suitcase moves. (Knowing USMCman, any suitcase movment will just be due to growth of mold on the sides.)
Any bets as to how long it will take him to notice the suitcase? I'll post updates... monthly?

We need to start a betting pool on which bag will move first...USMCman's from this trip to CA, or ArmyGuy's from his recent Guard duty? That's going to be a hard winner to call!
Aw, I can top your missing luggage. Air Canada sent mine to India. Yes, India.
My bet is that it sits there until he needs to fill it again.
