Along with losing my excess poundage, I also have the following resolution:
WRITE MORE SMUT!
Yes, I enjoy writing and used to have a fledgling career as a romance writer. Unfortunately, I've been over-scheduling lately and by the time Thing1 and Thing2 are in bed and I've finished chores and doing all my "volunteer" jobs-- I'm just plumb tuckered out. No energy to ACT romantic, let alone THINK romantically (or grammatically)!
THUS... my third New Year's Resolution was born. NO MORE VOLUNTEERING.
Other than the things I am already committed to doing in the upcoming five months, I am NOT going to volunteer to do more things. I've paid my dues for a while.
I find myself hard-pressed to tell people "NO" when they ask me for help on a project or with a school or USMC event. It's easy to say no to strangers who want you to do unreasonable reference research, but it's hard to tell the smiling neighbor "f-off" when she needs help organizing a spring block party. (Plus, I might find my mailbox demolished one day-- her husband is a tanker.)
How to balance my life and time? Practice? Isolationism? Large quantities of alcoholic intake (which violates resolution #1)? HELP?!!
I'm really trying to get back to writing... starting next week after I finish organizing a school pizza fundraiser...
Must not sleep...must stay awake...

You just need to let it GO and do what is most important to YOU and will make your life rewarding to you.
That's what I did with DAR. It was hard to say NO to them, and leave them like I did, but it was just taking too much of my time and not making me happy--you know that story, Info.
You can still do a few things--school pizza fundraisers, and whatnot--just not every single thing.
I have a vested interest in giving you this advice--I want more smut!! It will make you happy to write smut! It will even make some cash for you, right?? Start writing!!
I suggest making a list of what you will continue. Then when asked wheel out the list and then when you say no, it sticks better.
