I may be deluding myself, but I seem to remember Christmas as being RELAXING and FUN. Now, all I can think about is "Gotta get the gifts boxed and wrapped...haven't gotten the cards sent out...need to shop for cookie ingredients..."
Christmas is NOT fun! It's a pain in my ass!
Somehow, I have gotten caught up in the futile attempt to recreate my memories of Christmas instead of just working on making my own Christmas traditions and memories. Very stupid of me.
Nonetheless, I can't escape my current path of destruction. Today, I have to get ALL of my Christmas cards written and mailed out. Plus make fudge (did it!), plus make the gingerbread cookie dough.
Maybe I'll just pop open a bottle of wine and get snookered, instead. Sure would be more relaxing...

Well, many of my plans have been put aside due to the constant and excruciating pain in my back.
I was going to go to Vegas this weekend - cancelled.
I was going to make cookies for MovieNight and to send to ArmyGuy - can't.
I wanted to go to Disneyland at least once more during the Holiday season - can't do that either.
Wah. Those were my whole Christmas plans though, Vegas, Disneyland and one batch of cookies. Not that Christmas isn't important to me, I just don't have kids or a big family to do traditional stuff with, as you know.
I have managed to put up a small Christmas village and a small tree. They are both nice and they're helping to make me happy.
As for Christmas day, well, with ArmyGuy still gone, I'll probably go open some presents with XCircMan and AirportMan, then I'll probably go to the movies all day or something.
Don't drive yourself nuts, Infomatrix - it's no fun. I vote for that bottle wine myself - you deserve it!!
Only 5 more days until pain management, right? Can you hang on? Damn that sub-par insurance! I know you'll have a wonderful Christmas with XCircMan and AirportMan--they're wonderful guys and wonderful cooks (a fabulous combination!). Don't sweat the small stuff like ArmyGuy/MovieNight cookies. Have someone else bring in a bunch.
As for me, I'm just doing what I can do ("I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer, dammit!") and everything else can go suck eggs.

I'm with TIL. GET SNOOKERED!!! As for what I am doing for Christmas, I'm working. I'll be celebrating Christmas a day or two later.
