The Christmas season is out of control. You know as well as I do that Christmas decorations, sales, and even Christmas MUSIC is thrust upon us by Hallow'een. OCTOBER, for God's sakes! How awful is that???
Why bother with Thanksgiving? Just go straight from Hallow'een to Christmas. Call is 'Hallowmass'. Shop, eat, and decorate for two months straight, then binge and purge on December 26th. Ugh!
My neighbor, Ms. Lowe's is at it again, which is putting me in the Grinch mood. She started putting up Christmas decorations in MID NOVEMBER. I repeat, MID NOVEMBER. And the decorations just keep coming out...and coming out...and coming out. Like with her Hallow'een decorations, she's got way too much shit in her yard and it makes the rest of her neighbors stressed, kind of a "keeping up with the Lowes'" type of thing. Who can keep up?
Current count is: Complete roof dangling lights. Three wire light-up trees, one life-sized reindeer (wooden) two wire light-up reindeer, a life sized Santa and Mrs. Claus, a MONGO-HUGE wreath on her house (lights up, of course), a North Pole pole, a "This Way, Santa" sign with a helpful arrow to point the way, garlands everywhere, bows everywhere... That isn't all, but that's all I can think of right now. (Don't forget all the stuff INSIDE her house...)
Yes, friends, I will PROMISE to get a picture today and post it for you. XCircMan was probably very peeved with me for not getting the afore-promised Hallow'een picture. I'll send Thing2 over into the Christmas Hell Yard and pretend to be taking her picture while sneakily taking pictures of Ms. Lowes' house.
This reminds me. I need to go buy lights and start decorating. Our house is looking pretty dark in comparison to the Macy's display next-door... *grumble*

I have a friend from high school, whos dad went holiday nuts after retiring. Her mom said, it's better than his having a mistress and I know where he is... up on the roof with another string of lights. :)
Thanksgiving weekend is for eating leftovers and putting up Christmas decorations.
State laws should be enacted to enforce this.
