I am a big believer in chocolate chip cookies.
One of the best smells in the world is the smell of a hot chocolate chip cookie, fresh from the oven. Melting chocolate is a beautiful thing to see and the scent puts me into raptures.
Mmmmm.
I took a cross-country plane trip once--flew coach. I almost DIED when I smelled hot cookies baking for the FIRST CLASS passengers. Chocolate chip cookies were NOT offered to the bilge-riders in economy class. Note to self: next time, upgrade to cookie-class.
Boo-boos are made better by cookies. I used to hand out cookies to my students when I was a TA (got good reviews at the end of the year!). Cookies comfort in times of stress.
Mmmmm. Cookies. My little friends. (Followed closely by Cheetos--crunchy, of course.)
What is YOUR special food?

That would have to be ice cream. So evil and comforting all at the same time.
Cookies are right up there though, but if I had to pick one thing...ice cream.
One word, CHOCOLATE. Enough said.
Besides chocolate cookies and cheetos, I'll also have to add wine! Not a food, but certainly comforting. Oddly enough, I don't care for ice cream. Perhaps a mental deficiency? I LOVE biscuits and gravy and sorry XCircMan, but they're AWESOME out here (as you well know!). *lick lips*
A fresh, hot pizza and all the ice cold diet coke I can handle. I know it seems like an oxy-moron to have diet coke with a pizza, but regular coke is simply too sweet for me.
Chocolate chip cookies are right up there though. When I get home I am sending everyone some of my signature chocolate chip cookies for their incalculably invaluable support during my time away. Yes, I know, incalculably invaluable is redundant. It is how deeply I feel about everyone's support.
